How Do Fashion Brands Use Chanel-Style Tweed?
Bouclé (from French "curled") is a looped-yarn fabric that creates the signature nubby texture Chanel popularized in the 1950s. Our chanel style tweed fabric uses carded fancy yarns at 380–450 g/m² (with 150–650 g/m² available across the wider collection) to deliver this couture look for jackets, skirts, and co-ord sets.
Structured Jackets
The #1 application for bouclé tweed. Our 380-450 GSM weight range provides the perfect body for Chanel-style jackets, blazers, and collarless silhouettes. Gold metallic and multicolor bouclé are best-sellers for AW collections.
Best Seller: AW Jackets
A-Line & Pencil Skirts
Lighter weight 380-400 GSM patterns work beautifully for structured skirts. Pastel and cream palettes dominate spring/summer resort collections from boutique European labels.
Popular: SS Resort
Co-ord Sets & Dresses
The co-ord trend has driven significant demand for coordinated tweed separates. Matching jacket + skirt or jacket + dress sets are premium retail winners with strong margins for boutique brands.

We develop the same kind of complex fancy-yarn surfaces as Linton Tweeds, engineered to your brief rather than to a fixed catalogue. Our ISO 12945-2 pilling results of approx. grade 3-4 and controlled colour matching give designers European-mill quality — without European-mill minimums, since custom colourways start at 300 m and stock starts at a single roll.

Effect-Yarn Development to Your Brief
Most tweed suppliers sell you whatever standard yarn is in the catalogue. We develop multi-colour blends, slub, textured and stripe effect yarns to your development brief, and manage yarn sourcing and the production process so the sampled effect matches the bulk requirement.
European-Mill Quality Without European-Mill Minimums
We source raw materials directly and produce through selected specialist partner mills, with Fursone following yarn, weaving, dyeing, finishing, final inspection and packing throughout. You get one accountable partner instead of a chain of traders.
Small Orders, Taken Seriously
Unlike mills that require a full production run for every order, we hold ready-stock bouclé tweed patterns you can buy by the roll. Confirm styles, quantities and payment today and stock fabric is dispatched within 3–7 days; custom colourways start at just 300 m.

Technical Details
The Art of Tweed
Chanel-style Multicolor bouclé is developed at 380–450 g/m² (wool 60–80% + acrylic 20–40%, cashmere available). Slub & Texture programmes sit around 420–550 g/m² in wool/polyester/acrylic blends. Effect yarns (bouclé, slub, feather, metallic) are developed to brief. Each pattern is tested to ISO 12945-2 with pilling results of approx. grade 3-4.
Unlike generic tweed, our fabric uses effect yarns developed to your brief, with yarn sourcing, weaving and finishing managed by Fursone across selected specialist partner mills. Perfect for jackets, skirts, and structured outerwear. Need a stretch alternative? See our knitted overcoat fabric collection.
Every roll includes a full TDS with GSM, composition and care instructions, plus a batch composition test report. Because tweed is spun from multi-colour, multi-fibre yarns, we confirm colour by lab dip rather than promising a fixed match percentage. Custom colour matching and exclusive pattern development are developed to your brief.

Your Sourcing Questions Answered
What is the MOQ for Chanel-style tweed?
Ready stock from 1 roll; custom from 300 m per colour. Stock orders are dispatched within 3-7 days once styles, quantities and 100% T/T are confirmed. Custom developments require 25-35 days for bulk production after lab dip approval (7-15 days).
Can I get custom colours for bouclé tweed?
Yes — lab-dip confirmed colour matching. Any in-stock pattern can be re-coloured to your Pantone or LAB reference from 300 meters per colour. Lab dip approval takes 7-15 days and is confirmed before bulk. Custom colourways are developed to your brief, and recipes are recorded for re-orders at around 95% similarity.
How does Chinese bouclé tweed compare to Linton?
Comparable fancy-yarn complexity with far lower minimums. Our bouclé tweed is tested to ISO 12945-2 with pilling results of approx. grade 3-4, sampling takes 7-15 days versus 3-6 weeks from European mills, and custom colourways start at 300 meters instead of 1,000 meters or more.
How is pilling managed on bouclé tweed?
Tested to ISO 12945-2, targeting approx. grade 3-4. Wool fibres naturally pill under friction — this is inherent to the material. Our finishing process is specified to keep pilling within professional ready-to-wear tolerances; we cannot promise zero pilling.
Can I get fabric samples before ordering?
Yes — A5–A4 swatch cards, then 50–100 m sample lengths. We do not ask you to approve bulk from a small swatch alone. For development we weave 50-100 meter sample lengths on the same process as future bulk, so you can sew a full garment, judge weight, hand and loft, and cut bulk risk before committing.
What is the lead time for custom tweed orders?
7-15 days for sampling; 25-35 days for bulk; 25-30 days for repeat orders. Rush production (15-20 days) is possible where capacity and yarn can be coordinated in advance. Stock orders are dispatched in 3-7 days. DDP shipping adds 7-12 days depending on destination.
